Ward 1 councillor seeks fourth term

Oct 12, 2020 | 3:00 PM

The incumbent councillor for Ward 1 in Prince Albert, Charlene Miler, is aiming to extend her run of successful elections to four.

Miller has been employed by the Prince Albert Parkland Herald Region for 24 years and has lived in the West Flat most of her life.

In an email Miller said she has been an active member of the community and, since being elected to city council, has sat on numerous committees. She added she attends many events in Prince Albert and volunteers her time to help out many organizations, while she has worked to improve conditions in her ward.

Among her ongoing goals is “to work toward a fairer distribution of funds and services throughout the city,” the email read.

“I have worked hard to address the concerns and issues of the residents of Ward 1. I am proud to live in Ward 1. I will continue to work diligently for Ward 1 residents and will continue to act in the best interest of all citizens of Prince Albert,” she said, in part.

Miller explained she would knock on doors leading up to the election on Nov. 9, working within the confines of COVID-19 regulations and under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer.

In the 2016 election Miller defeated Daniel Brown — who is running again — by 596 to 251 votes.
