With broken hearts, we are so sad to announce the tragic passing of Jordan Donald Darchuk. Jordan died suddenly at the young age of 23 on Saturday, September 16, 2017.
Jordan was born in Prince Albert on May 3, 1994, to Ben and Leanne Darchuk. He attended John Diefenbaker School and graduated from Carlton Comprehensive High School in June of 2012. After graduation, Jordan helped out his mother by working at the family business, Ben’s Auto Glass. After obtaining his Occupational Health and Safety education, Jordan moved on to his current career as an OH&S Officer with Broda Group.
He enjoyed all recreational outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, boating, quading, and spending time at the family cabin. Jordan was always making sure that the people around him were happy, safe, and prosperous. He was always helping out at home and at the family cabin. He loved to have his friends around and was happy when he had the opportunity to cook for them and entertain them at both his home and cabin. Jordan was known for his witty, dry humor, and he was always able to lighten up the mood with his remarkable one-liner jokes. He also loved his alone time, winding down watching movie series, playing video games, and reading novels.
After the passing of his Dad, Jordan bravely took on the role of being the man of the house and quickly became someone that could be counted on at any given moment to lend a helping hand. He was able to continue building on the skills and traits that he learned from his Dad and did an amazing job at being there for his mother, sisters, and partner Jerrica in all ways. His family meant the world to him, as well as his relationship with Jerrica. After five years together, his love for Jerrica was very evident and was his number one priority. Their relationship is a beautiful example of his loving, thoughtful personality.
Jordan was an impressive leader. He was confident, organized, hardworking, and somehow always managed to keep busy with multiple side projects, even while having a career and busy social life. Jordan truly left a legacy; his life was taken away too soon for us to understand.
Jordan is survived by his mother Leanne Darchuk, his sisters Whitney Darchuk (Josh Kapacila), Julie Darchuk (Patrick Lewis), and his partner Jerrica Kress. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Penny and David Herbert, Alex and Betty Darchuk, Marianne and Gord Sherwood, Bill and Patty Darchuk, Zoria and Steve Depeel, Steven and Lynn Darchuk, as well as many cousins. Jordan was predeceased by his father Ben Darchuk, grandparents Peter and Anne Darchuk, Gloria and Don Snell, and cousin Amanda Sherwood.
The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., at the Art Hauser Centre Arena, 690 32 St. E, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
