Tony Head – is a national representative for the Canadian Union of Public Employees. Head says he has a proven track-record as an advocate for working people, a skilled negotiator, and a respected member of the Indigenous community. He wants to improve transparency and accountability around city spending and believes the city should take a lead on addressing social issues. Job creation and increased investment in programming and services for youth are among his other top priorities.
Evert Botha – a local business owner is seeking a second term as councillor for Ward 3. During his term as councillor he assisted in the creation of Midtown Neighbourhood Watch, hosted three successful Ward 3 community clean-ups, and participated in various other community initiatives. Botha wants to increase the Prince Albert’s tax base through long-term, sustainable economic development incentives to reduce taxes for residents and businesses. He’d also like to see the City do more to address social issues like homelessness and street gangs.
Lee Atkinson – a retired technical officer, previously served as a city councillor for five terms from 2000-2016. Atkinson has sat on various boards and committees in the community including the Police Commission and the Library Board. He says he looks forward to bringing leadership and dedication to the role of Ward 3 city councillor. Atkinson promises to focus on new and existing infrastructure needs including roadways, water and sewer. He also wants to address police and fire protection.
