ZENNIE BALON
1927 – 2013
Zennie was born on November 12, 1927 in Tarnapol, SK. On October 5, 1947 she married John Balon. During her career she worked for Burns and Company, City Electric Ltd. and CKBI Radio. She enjoyed curling, watching hockey, fishing with her husband John and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Zennie is survived by her son Gordon (Ann) Balon, grandchild Adam (Andrea), great grandchildren Anna and Ava, grandchild Bradley (Kate), great grandchildren Quinton and Benjamin; her daughter Linda McKay, grandchild Kara (Lyle) Michaluk, great grandchildren Davis and Avery, grandchild Ryan (Natalie) McKay, great grandchildren Kaylee and Reese, grandchild Brendan; her sister Ann Samcoe of Saskatoon, SK. She was predeceased by her husband John in 2006; her parents Theodore and Mary Budnyk; her sister Helen Lysitza, and her brother Nick Budnyk. A celebration of Zennie’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Grays Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Celebant Val Bodnaryk. Private family interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations will graciously be accepted to the Palliative Care Program c/o Prince Albert Home Care, Unit D – 4050 – 2nd Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK S6W 1A2.
