WINNIFRED HELSTROM
Winnifred Helstrom, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was born September 27, 1919. Winnifred was a very outgoing and strong woman. She told you how it was and if you didn’t like it, too bad. She was a devoted grandmother to all of her grandkids and her great-grandkids. Left to cherish Winnifred’s memory are her son Noel, granddaughters Pam (Bruce), Sherri, Barbara (Tim), grandson Lorne (Christine), six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Lauren, parents Sam and Winnifred Hobbs, her brother Arthur, her sister Joanie, her great-great-granddaughter Jayden, and Rose Gyoerick, the mother of her grandchildren. She lived most of her life in Star City and worked in her dad’s dealership where she did the book work. In her later years, Winnifred moved to Prince Albert where she resided in different care homes. At her time of passing, she resided in the Shellbrook Hospital. She loved to cook, and to spend time with her grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face that would melt your heart. Winnifred will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral service and interment of cremated remains to be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Don Moriarty, Funeral Director.
