It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Cook of Prince Albert on April 8, 2015 in Victoria Hospital with his family at his bedside. William (Bill) Cook was born in Thicket Portage, MB on October 26, 1947 to Henry and Jessie (nee Bittern) Cook. Bill and his second oldest brother Jason were raised on the trapline at Paint Lake. Bill started working with his father and brother Jason and worked in the mining field (geology) for Geosearch Consultants (Jim Proudfoot) of Toronto for five years from 1966 to 1971. Bill also worked for INCO in Thompson Pipe Lake Mining operations as a heavy equipment operator. Bill moved on to Fort McMurray, AB and was employed with Syncrude also as a heavy equipment operator for 30 years. He is a Syncrude retiree. Bill is now at his new home to be with the Lord, his parents and grandparents in heaven. Bill was predeceased by his father Henry Cook in 2000; his mother Jessie Cook in 1971; his grandparents William Thomas Bittern of Montana, U.S. and Mary Bittern of Thicket Portage; uncles Harry Pronteau, John Cook, John Bittern, Baptiste Bittern, Robert Pronteau; his aunts Leona Pronteau, Sarah Bittern, Edith Cook, Alfred Crait and Annie Crait; his cousins Douglas Crait, Leonard Crait and Virginia Crait. Bill enjoyed playing baseball, golf, hockey and bingo. He was a Boston Bruins Hockey fan. Bill made many friends during his journey here on Mother Earth – friends he made at work, on his travels, and at events he attended. Bill leaves to mourn, his wife Geraldine; children William Jr., Jeffrey, Kelly, Andrea, Lorena and Tristan; granddaughters Carla, Kayla, Maddy, Lydia, Laurelye, Kaitlyn, Chelsea, Tressa, Brooklynne; grandsons Dakota and Adrian; great granddaughters Cadence and Jocelyn; brothers Jason Cook (Carol Hodkenson) of Thompson, MB, Brian (Mabel) Cook of Thompson, MB, Marty (Connie) Cook of Holland Michigan, Malcolm Cook of Winnipeg, MB, Eddy Cook (Cheryl Dion) of Edmonton, AB; sisters Yvonne (Greg) Shaw of Thompson, MB, Edna (Wally) Evans of Thicket Portage, MB, Annabelle (Malone) Mountain of Edmonton, AB, Cecille Cook of Winnipeg, MB, Delores Cook (Charlie Evans) of Thicket Portage, MB and Olga Cook of Brandon, MB; nephews Jason Jr. of Vancouver, BC, Peter John of Thompson, MB, Jordan Shaw of Thompson, MB, Richard Cook of Thompson, MB, Alan Cook of Thompson, MB, Vince Cook of Thicket Portage, MB, Stephen Shaw of Thompson, MB, Ken Cook of Edmonton, AB, Tristan Cook, Jeremy Cook, Juneau Cook; nieces Alana Cook of Nelson House, Denise Cook of Winnipeg, MB, Amy Shaw of Brandon, MB, Tanya Evans-Cook of Thicket Portage, MB, Jackie Cook of Thompson, MB, Teagan Cook of Thompson, MB, Bev Mercredi of Thompson, MB, Megan Cook, Adrienne Cook, Joni Cook, Rona Cook, Abby Cook, Hannah Cook, Kayshia Cook and Leslie Cook. Wake Service will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 through till 9:00 a.m. April 12, 2015 at Muskoday First Nations Hall, Muskoday, SK. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Father Tuan Doan officiating.
