COURTNEY- William Charles, born October 18, 1930, passed away in hospital March 28, 2011. William is survived by his wife Margaret, three sons and their wives, five grandchildren and one great grandchild: Thomas and Carol, sons Kellan and Koehl; Ronald and Ann, son Shayn and Becky (Stohl), grandchild Blake and son, Tanner and Rachelle (McKay); Donald, daughter Cara. Bill was employed at the Prince Albert Daily Herald for over twenty years. In 1968, with our three sons, we moved to Emma Lake and owned and operated the Sunnyside Market Store. Over the years we met very good people and had some really good times. Bill was a founding member of the Lakeland Lions Club, as well as a founding member of the Lakeland & District Volunteer Fire Department. We had the honour of being named Lakeland Citizen of the Year in 2003. We retired from the store in 2003 and still live at Emma Lake, Sunnyside Beach. Many thanks to neighbors who have been so helpful through this time: Ken, Troy, Lorne and Leon, Yvonne, Irvin, Arnie, Donna and Barb and our family. Special thanks to Logan’s Family Store, Jim and Gail Logan, and the Lion’s Club for building the ramp. It was Bill’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Christopher/Emma Lakeland Lions Club to carry on their good work. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1:00 pm in Northern Funeral Service-MacKenzie Chapel, 130-9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Lunch to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall. Arrangements in care of Northern Funeral Service-MacKenzie Chapel, Brian Stobbs, Bev Stobbs Funeral Directors. 763-8488 www.northernfuneralservice.ca
