William (Bill) Odias Cartier of White Star, SK, beloved husband of the late Charlotte Cartier, passed away in the Prince Albert Victoria Union Hospital on October 18, 2016 at 88 years of age. In the 50 wonderful years Bill and his Charlotte were married (in 1954), they were blessed with nine children, their late daughter Wanda, son Clay (Audrey Kormos), daughter Kelly, late daughter Lyla (Len Dobransky), daughter Esther (Greg Emmerson), son Shane, late son Kim, daughter Cindy (Rick Drescher), and daughter Gail (Gord MacPherson). Bill and Charlotte were also blessed with 20 beautiful grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Bill will be dearly missed by his close family, as well as, numerous other family members and friends, near and far. Bill was predeceased by his wife Charlotte (1931 – 2004), his daughters Wanda (1954 – 2005) and Lyla (1960 – 1998), his son Kim (1965 – 1970) and great-grandson Keygen Rosner (Oct 12, 2008 – Oct 15, 2008) (son of his granddaughter, Ciera Cartier). Bill was the seventh child of fourteen children born to Odias & Yvonne Cartier in White Star, SK who raised his family with his wife Charlotte on the family homestead. Throughout Bill’s busy life, he dedicated himself to working hard to provide for his family by farming his land, raising livestock, and working in various camps logging and/or hauling for the pulp and paper industry, and constantly busy sawing lumber in his own backyard. He always made time creating precious moments and life-long memories with each and everyone of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which will forever be treasured. Bill had many passions in life, like baseball, bowling, going to local dances and socializing with many friends in his life, and that’s only mentioning a few passions of his. He was always admired by his strength, patience, humor, and his infectious easy-going personality, which will truly be missed by all. On behalf of Bill’s family, we would like to send a heartfelt thank you and appreciation to Dr. Mark Halyk’s years of caring and compassion for Bill, along with an extended thank you to his staff, and as well to the nursing staff who cared for Bill at the Victoria Union Hospital.
