William “Bill” Haleschuk
December 20, 1930 – June 29, 2013
In the early hours of Saturday, June 29, 2013, with his family by his side William “Bill” Haleschuk, our much loved Dad, grandfather (Papa) and great grandfather was called home to join the love of his life. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Marjorie M. Haleschuk (nee Diehl) on Friday, December 16, 2011; his parents, Michael and Helen Haleschuk; his brother John Haleschuk; his sister-in-law Jean Haleschuk and his brother-in-law Allan Barton. Leaving to cherish many happy memories, William is survived by his loving children; Judy (Ian) MacKenzie, Candle Lake, SK; Don Haleschuk, Kelowna, BC; Jim (Sherri) Haleschuk, Orillia, ON; Donna (Jim) Cassidy, Prince Albert, SK and his daughter-in-law Louise Haleschuk, Kelowna, BC. He is also survived by his grandchildren whom he loved and was so proud of, Cory and Jason MacKenzie, Lyndsay and Michael Haleschuk; and Mathew and Britney Cassidy and his great grandchildren; Kayley and Jared MacKenzie, Samuel and William MacKenzie; Atticus Haleschuk, and Matthew and Eric Carvelli. Dad is also survived and lovingly remembered by his brother George (Joanne) Haleschuk, Calgary, AB; his sisters, Anne Barton, Claresholm, AB, Mary (Larry) Barley, Claresholm, AB and Olga Nelson, Red Deer, AB. Also left to fondly remember him are very close friends, Julie Beatty; Stephanie and baby Zahra Beatty, and his many nieces and nephews whom he loved greatly. The past 4 years had presented Dad with many challenging changes which he courageously faced and bravely accepted without question. Dad served and gave much to his community, serving on the Prince Albert City Police Force as Constable and later as Sergeant. Over the years he served on and supported many community associations. Dad also ventured out on his own trucking business for a few years, making many lifelong friendships. Dad was a true and loyal friend to all who knew him, he was non-judgmental and accepted each person for who they were. Dad has shown us how to embrace life and accept and do our best at whatever challenges may be presented. To know Dad was to love him. He will be so very much missed by his family and many, many friends. Until we meet again Pa…we’ll see ya! The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to Pastor Dennis Serfas for his caring visits to Dad over these last years and also the caring staff of the Heb Bassett Home – Golden Hill.
