William “Bill” Crawford
September 5, 1920 – December 22, 2014
William “Bill” Crawford, late of Birch Hills, SK passed away on December 22, 2014 in Birch Hills, SK at the age of 94 years. Bill was born in the Spruce Home District on September 5, 1920. He served in World War II from 1942-1945 in the Canadian Army overseas, after returning to Canada after the war, he worked in Vancouver, BC in the Canadian White Pine Mill (1945-1952). It was at this time in Vancouver that Bill married Agnes Stobbs on November 10, 1949. They raised their family in British Columbia and moved back to Saskatchewan in 1962, where he worked for B&B Paving from 1964-1979. He retired in 1979, spending his leisure time curling and golfing in Birch Hills, SK and vacationing in Arizona during the winters. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years: Agnes; his children: Russell (Marina) and their children: Jessica and Andrea; William “Bill” (Ivy) and their children: Michael (Jodi) and Michelle (David); James (Janice) and their children: Elly (Lyle), William “Billy”, John Mark and Teighana; Lynn (Bruce) and their children: Kelli, Camielle (Byron), Meagan, and Dani (Chris); Sherry (Michael) and her children: Clinton (Stacey), Melissa (Jared), and Trevor (Roxanne); and Jan (Stan) and their children: Amanda (Melvin) and Brendon (Jenna); his 29 great-grandchildren; his sister: Coraline Gosseline; his brother: Roddie Crawford; his sisters-in-law: Margaret Tapley and June Stobbs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Bill was predeceased by his granddaughter: Sebrina McCloy; his parents: Rusty & Mary Crawford; his brothers: Horace “Buster”, Jack (Lois), and Charlie (Thelma); his sisters: Blanche (Bruce) and Dorothy (Albert); his brothers-in-law: Alfred Gosselin, Tom Tapley, Irvin Stobbs, Jack (Joy) Stobbs, George (Mildred) Stobbs, Ernest (Agnes “Bet”) Stobbs, and Joe Stobbs; and his sister-in-law: Greeta (Sigurd) Hoknes. A Visitation and Veterans Honours will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 – 10:00 am, St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Birch Hills, SK. Interment to follow at the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Brancepeth, SK. A Memorial Service for Bill will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 – 2:00 pm, St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Birch Hills, SK with Rev. Chris Dow officiating.
