Wilfrid (Wilf) Gaudet went peacefully to meet his Lord on Thursday, April 28th, 2011. He was surrounded by his family who supported and comforted him in his last moments. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Solange and his four daughters who were his pride and joy – Brenda (Clarence) Grenier and their children, Teal (Paige) and Jayde Grenier of Domremy, Joanne (Stephen) Fraser of Gibsons, BC, Ramona (Brad) Fauchoux and their children, Chad and Logan Fauchoux of Prince Albert and Shelley (Doug) Pidskalny of Prince Albert. He also leaves three brothers, Joel (Lucille) Gaudet of Prince Albert, Hubert Gaudet of Port Alberni, BC and Laurier (Michelle) Gaudet of Prince Albert, and six sisters, Diane (Clement) Roy of St. Louis, Pauline (Marcel) Berthelette of Winnipeg, MB, Dorothée (Robert) Cousin of Saskatoon, Cecile (John) Pelletier of Prince Albert, Marielle (Neil) Gareau of Prince Albert and Madeleine (John) Norris of Toronto, ON, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and very good friends. He was predeceased by his parents Lionel and Yvonne Gaudet, nephews Charles Berthelette, Martin Roy, Paul Bisson and George Lajeunesse, his father and mother-in-law Roland and Béatrice Lajeunesse, a brother-in-law Gérard Bisson and a very close friend and brother-in-law, Fernand Gaudet. Wilf was born in Bellevue on January 25th, 1936 where he grew up and did his schooling. He later became an electrician and after a few years started his own business in Domremy, Wilf’s Electric. When he retired, he sold his business to his daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Clarence Grenier. The business then became C-Bre Electric. His life revolved around his family, his business, his community and mostly his faith. He was a man with strength of character and lived life to the fullest. The celebration of his life was held on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 at the St. Joan of Arc Church in Domremy at 2:00 pm, with Fr. Tru Le officiating and Fr. Gerard and other priests as co-celebrants. Interment followed in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic cemetery in Domremy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Wilf to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements for the late Wilf Gaudet were entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service of Wakaw (233-4403).
