Mrs. Wendy Fallis, age 59, beloved Mother of Dean, Maureen and Colleen, passed away peacefully Friday, November 14, 2014, surrounded by her family in Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK. The late Mrs. Fallis is survived by her loving family: her Son Dean (Joanne) Fallis – Grandchildren, Jared, Aidan and Mia; her Daughters Maureen (Alex) Olson, and Colleen Fallis (Robert Morrow) – Grandchild, Brooke; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her Parents James ‘Wesley’ Bailey and Beulah Fern Bailey (nee Leask); her infant brother, Patrick Hugh Bailey; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Wendy was born on March 31, 1955 in Prince Albert, SK. She grew up on her parents` farm near Fenton, SK. This is where she learned what hard work was. Many times as an infant she would be sleeping in her mother’s arms while out doing chores on the farm. She had many stories that were told around the supper table. Sunday suppers were a family tradition at her parents’ house, a tradition that was carried on long after they passed away, and there was always room at the dining table for a few more. Wendy was a hard working woman. With the help of her parents, Wesley and Beulah Bailey, she raised three wonderful children.
She enjoyed spending her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Wendy’s mannerism was to be fair to everyone, helping out anywhere she could, never asking for anything in return. Times weren’t always easy for her, but she made do with what she had, working during the day, and putting herself through night classes to obtain education to better herself and her career. She started her career with S.R.S.D. 119 as a substitute Education Associate in the Developmental Education classroom at Vincent Massey School. This is also where she was a member of the P.T.A. and a Volunteer Lunchroom Supervisor, and was the school her children attended.
Most recently, she was an E.A. at Princess Margaret School, where her grandchildren attend, and quickly became “nana” to many of the grandchildren’s schoolmates as well. Her Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 22, 2014, at River Park Memorial Chapel. The Reverend Janet Coffey-Olson will officiate. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation. Interment will take place in the Garden of Devotion in the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director
