Wendy Carole Magnus was born May 26, 1957, in Leoville to James and Phyllis McDaid, Wendy was the fourth child of James and Phyllis. When she was brought home, she joined brothers Larry and Mark and sister Linda. In the following years brothers Ronnie and Kenny were born completing the McDaid family.
In her teenage years during high school, she discovered her passion for leatherwork. This passion would lead to her countless creations traveling around North America.
After graduating from high school in Leoville, Wendy moved in with her grandpa Blair to help keep him company. Here she found the love of her life Norman Magnus while working at the Penn Store. After a short courtship they were married in Grandpa Blair’s backyard on July 26, 1980. They had 45 wonderful years making memories together.
Shortly after marrying, Wendy and Norman got involved with the Ranger Hall. Something that was near and dear to her heart. So near and dear that in her last few days she got everything lined up to make sure the fall supper still took place this year. Wendy cared deeply for community and the hall with countless New Years Eve dances, fall suppers, July 1st BBQ, Halloween parties, weddings, funerals and family reunions, Wendy would make sure these events took place.
