Wayne Runge – April 28, 1943 – February 3, 2026
It is with great sadness that friends of Wayne announce his sudden passing. After completing university in Missoula, Montana, Wayne pursued a long and interesting career with the Government of Saskatchewan Wildlife Branch.
Wayne had many passions, including cutting firewood, spending time at his cabin on Besnard Lake, working at fishing camps in northern Saskatchewan, wintering in Yuma, and especially elk hunting. When the calendar turned to September, Wayne would start having sleepless nights in anticipation of elk season – including this last fall.
Wayne said it like it was and you always knew what was on his mind, but he had a heart of gold. His little Shih Tzu buddies – Bear, Boh, Sparky and Spike – were near and dear to him. He was deeply grateful for the close friends who stayed in touch, whether by phone or visits.
He is survived by the close friends who were like family to him, and who hold his memory dear.
