It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Peter Raymond Boisson on March 20, 2026, following an unexpected massive cardiac event.
Dad was born on December 21, 1951, at Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, to George and Florence (née Deschambeault). He was raised in Prince Albert alongside his two brothers, Danny and Kelly, and two sisters, Wanita and Darlene.
Dad worked at Cameco for 22 years before following his true passion as a school bus driver. In that role, he became a familiar and caring presence to countless children. He loved his job and the kids he drove, and they loved him right back.
For 20 years, Dad cherished his time at Nagle Lake, a place that brought him peace and so many happy memories with family and friends.
Dad was a dedicated Montreal Canadiens fan and rarely missed a game. His passion for sports was evident in everything he did from following the “stinky Habs” to supporting his grandchildren in various sports. He was always their number one supporter.
Dad shared 54 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Fern. Together, they built a life centred around family, especially spending time at the farm at Struthers Lake. Some of Dad’s greatest joys were the moments spent with his grandchildren – taking them out on the quad, shooting beer cans with a bb gun, or simply sitting around the fire.
Though he could be steadfast in his ways, Dad expressed his love through his actions. He was always willing to lend a hand and remained a constant and reliable presence for those who needed him.
Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Fern (née Atkinson); his daughters, Stacey (Greg), Carla (Ryan), and Haley; his brother, Kelly (Karen); his two sisters, Wanita (Reg) and Darlene; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Marilyn, Donna (Mike), Karen (Rick), and Shelly (Jim). He will be deeply missed by his cherished grandchildren, Abby, Avery, Emma, Mya, Charlie, and Lucas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Linda Levesque.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, George and Florence; his brother, Danny; and brothers-in-law, Bill Atkinson, and Jack.
We love you and will miss you forever and always. We want to thank all family and friends for all the calls, texts, hugs, and food these past few days. We would also like to thank the paramedics and emergency staff for their kindness and care for our dad and for the support they showed our family during this difficult time.
A private family interment will be held at a later date.
