Vivian May Erickson
(April 8, 1929 – December 28, 2011)
Mom passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at home, as she wanted, peacefully, with her family by her side. Mom was born in Quill Lake, SK on April 8, 1929. She graduated from Saskatoon City Hospital School of Nursing and worked in Rose Valley where she met her future husband, Orville. They were married in 1952 and moved to Prince Albert in 1955 where mom was employed at the Sanitarium until they started their family. After dad’s death in 1975, mom returned to school and obtained a secretarial diploma. She retired from the Co-operative Community Clinic in 1990.
Mom leaves to mourn her passing: her son Cal (Darlene) and their daughter Crystal (Brian Faulds) all of Saskatoon; her son Doug (Bev Michael) and his children Chelsey (Randy Watchman) all of Prince Albert and Kyle (Joanne) of Saskatoon; her daughter Lynne (Larry Langgard) and their daughter Angela (Jason Hennig) all of Regina; her great-grandchildren Scott Erickson; Eliana, Caleb and McKenna Watchman; C.J. Erickson; Kristina,Veronica and Sean Hennig; her sister Marion Hushagen of Edmonton, AB; her brother Roy (Muriel) Rodgers of Dartmouth, NS; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
At mom’s request, no funeral service will be held. A family celebration of her life and interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Garden of Devotion, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. The family asks that anyone who wishes to make memorial donations may do so to the charity of their choice in mom’s memory.
