VIRGIL NELSON UTKE
Virgil Nelson Utke, age 86, of Prince Albert, SK passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013. He was born on August 10, 1927 in Gull Lake, SK. Virgil is survived by his loving family: his son Ronald (Jean) Utke and children Ann (Ryan) Farn and great grandchildren Zander and Zoey; Ian (Amanda) Utke and great-grandchildren Jacob, Dysen and Weston: his daughter Sharon (Philip) Powell and children Chad (Joanne) Henry and Brad (Heather) Henry; his son Michael Utke; extended family members Margaret and Ray Brice, Winnifred MacDonald and Milton and Jean Brice. He was predeceased by his wife Alice Gladys Utke on October 24, 2012 and his parents Louis and Alma (nee Hesse) Utke. Virgil loved the land and outdoor life owning several farms, building a family home in Prince Albert and then settling at his current location on a farm north of Prince Albert. While farming he also worked for the City of Prince Albert for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing and gardening. He was always working on a project or planning another and even at the age of 86 said “I have so many plans…” It gives the family comfort in knowing he is with his loving partner Alice whom he missed so much over the past year, I imagine they are probably out planting their garden right now. A special “thanks” to Vernon and Iona, Clifford, Winnifred, Margaret and Ray and Michael and all those who were there for him especially this past year. A Memorial Gathering will take place at 2 pm, Thursday, December 5 from the Arbor Lounge of River Park Memorial Chapel, for a time of remembrance and refreshments. It is the family”s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Victoria Union Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director
