1930-2016
With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Victoria “Vicky” (nee Krasko) White. She was born at Samburg, later the family settled at the farm south of Snowden. With thirteen siblings, she had many humorous memories and stories to share. It was at a dance that Vicky’s smile and twinkle in her eye captured the heart of her lifelong love Lloyd White of Smeaton. They were married on September 24th, 1948 and settled in Choiceland where they raised three children together. They made a great team; Vicky ran the household with as much passion as Lloyd ran his business! She was an avid gardener and an amazing cook who loved to host family and friends. True to her Ukrainian heritage, there was never a shortage of food and hospitality! Vicky was known for her sharp wit. She was always ready to listen and offer advice. Vicky also could be a trickster and appreciated a good joke. Victoria loved her family and adored her loving husband Lloyd. They spent 67 years together travelling, playing cards, picking blueberries, fishing and entertaining their grandchildren at their cabin at Candle Lake. It brought her great joy in giving of herself to others and she will always be remembered for her generosity and caring heart. Victoria is survived by her loving husband Lloyd; her son Brian (Joanne) of Choiceland, SK and their family Corey, Tara (Brian) Ashe and their children Acelynn and Ethan; her daughter Elaine (Greg) of Oak Lake, MB and their children Charity, and Jay; her daughter Connie (Kevin) of Prince Albert, SK and their children Jarica and Liam; her sisters Annie Molitwenik of Candle Lake, SK, Jean Lundy of Kincardine, ON; her sisters-in-law Hilda Krasko of Snowden, SK and Helen Krasko of Prince Albert, SK, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Victoria was predeceased by her parents Charles & Francis Krasko; brothers Mike(Sally) Krasko, Nick Krasko, Alec Krasko, and Steve Krasko; sisters Mary (Stanley) Mardell, Bella (Billy) King, Sophie (Ralph) Ernst, Pauline (Bob) Miller, Lucille (Gerald) Lundy, and infants Violet and Dora; brothers-in-law Pete Molitwenik, and Rodney Lundy. The family would like to send a heart felt thank you to Wendy and the staff at Caleb Village, the staff at Victoria Hospital, Dr. Maya and family and friends for their care and concern. Also, thank you to United Church Minister, Nora and Funeral Director, Marianne for their support and guidance at this time of sadness. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday August 19th, 2016 at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating.
