It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Emile Fauchoux announces his passing on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at the age of 89 years.
Victor was born December 16, 1929 in Hoey, SK. to Emile and Alice. He started his teaching career at the age of 17 in the community of Saint Front, just East of Naicam. One of his teaching assignments led him to the La Plaine area between Rosthern and Duck Lake where he met his wife Armie. They married July 14, 1953.
Vic retired from teaching in 1985 and when Armie retired in 1988 they became avid world travellers and snowbirds spending over 30 winters in Arizona. Vic’s passions in retirement included love of old cars, fiddle playing in Arizona with the ‘Note Blenders’ and in Saskatchewan with the ‘Jammers’, where he thoroughly enjoyed performing at retirement homes. Vic and Armie loved pattern dancing and could be found ‘cutting a rug’ anywhere in the Mesa or Prince Albert areas. He and Armie spent countless hours compiling family genealogical books for both sides of the family. Vic loved spending time with his family and friends playing cards, and especially enjoying the company of his 7 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.
Victor will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Armande; his children, Dan (Gisele), Lionel, Michael (Elaine), and Marcel (Sandy). Vic will also be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Ryan (Melanie) Rachelle (Alex), Chantelle, Laurissa (Michael) Cailee, Adam, and Brendan; his three great grandchildren, Norie, Lorelai, and Clara; his brother Louis (Shirley); his sister Lea (Jack); and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Victor was predeceased by an infant daughter Claire (1955), his father Emile (1988), his mother Alice (1992), his brother Joe (2014), and sister-in-law Lillian (2016).
Funeral Mass in memory of Vic will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 260 25th Street East, Prince Albert, with Father Alberto Dela Pena officiating. Following lunch and fellowship in the church basement, Interment will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
