In the loving presence of his family, Victor Hnidek passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020, at the age of 87 years.

Victor is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Jean Hnidek; his children, Miles (Fran), Lydia (Darren); his grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley), Kevin (Erica), Kirk (Ranelle), Nadia (Anesh), Macy (Stuart); his great-grandchildren, Milena, Danica, Kendra, Thea, Mikaela; his brother, Walter. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Nadia Hnidek; and his sister, Helen.

Alongside his family, Victor immigrated from Russia in 1937, and settled in the Albertville District where they farmed. Later Vic was employed for many years with Burns Food and in 1959 married the love of his life. Together they farmed and raised their family near and later on the original family homestead.

His love of the land would be shared with his son, and later grandsons, whom he’d always have special projects ready for them that they could do together. Many memories were made with those tailgate suppers in the field.

Victor always took pride in grooming his yard until retiring to Prince Albert. It is there that he discovered something greater than farming… his T.V.!

Undeniably his greatest treasure was being surrounded by his family. A benevolent soul who always had his trademark little hat on, who enjoyed sharing stories and laughter.

Family and friends wishing to make a donation in Victor’s memory may do so to the charity of their choice. A private family service was held for Victor. Thank you to everyone for the phone calls, cards, online condolences and beautiful floral arrangements.
