Vernon Roy Hughes passed away suddenly on November 30, 2015 at the age of 74. Vernon was predeceased by his first wife Beatrice, his son Kim Roy, his parents Roy and Clara, his brother Dale, his sister-in-law Margorie, his in-laws Thomas and Kate Wallace, his grandparents Robert and Rachel Halladay, and his grandson Brent Makelki. Vernon is survived by his wife Greta, son Ryan (Shelley), grandsons William and Seth, daughter Shelley and granddaughters Jessica and Jada and great-granddaughter Avaiah, daughter-in-law Mariann and grandchildren Victoria, Sheila, and Owen. Vernon was raised on a farm in Huntoon, SK. He became an electrician in the early sixties. He and his wife Greta spent time in Three Hills, AB before returning to Weyburn to work for Pan Canadian Petroleum. Vern’s retirement was spent in Prince Albert, SK, beginning in 2007. Vernon enjoyed his years up north and making so many new friends. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the doctors and nurses in ER at the Prince Albert Victoria Hospital. You were all so kind and gracious. There will be no funeral service. By request, cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date.
