VERNON GREYEYES
1968 – 2017
Peacefully, with family by his side, we said goodbye to a most loving man. Vernon Greyeyes passed away on September 27, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Greyeyes; his son, Brennon Greyeyes; his step-sons, Joshua Courchene and Justin Courchene (Cara); his mother, Georgina Greyeyes; his father, Richard Greyeyes; his brothers, Ken (Tina), Dennis (Lori), Floyd, Tim (Karen) and Darrell; and his sisters, Lorraine, Lori-ann, Cheryl and Donna (Ted), Jamie (Clint). He was predeceased by his brother Donald Joseph on July 3, 1977. Vernon loved his family very much. He looked forward to family get-togethers and loved planning and organising many celebrations throughout his life. Education was another love that he pursued with great passion. He wanted justice and better education for many First Nations communities that he worked for. For Vernon, all students were the most important people in the world. He loved children. Vernon graduated with a Bachelor of Education and continued on to graduate with his Masters of Education from the University of Saskatchewan. He had an industrious career teaching and as a Principal for many First Nations schools. His hobbies and favorite pastimes included golfing, reading, watching funny videos on YouTube, spending time with his family and listening to music. A Celebration of Vernon’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Father Matthew Nguyen officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, Don Moriarty, Funeral Director.
