Verna Henry (nee Martens) August 22nd, 1947- April 19th, 2025
The family of Verna Henry sadly announce her passing on April 19, 2025, at Rose Garden Hospice in Prince Albert. Verna was born and raised in Carrot River, SK, to her parents William and Mary Martens. After graduating high school, she moved to Prince Albert where she met and married Sam Hardlotte and had two daughters, Luanne and Sara. After her divorce, Verna was determined to raise her daughters and worked several jobs to do so. She then met Jerry and was married for 4 years. During this time, Verna and her family went camping, on road trips and had fun before becoming a widow. She did not let her loss slow her down, she found hobbies such as biking through the Rocky Mountains to Mount St. Helens to keep her busy when her girls and her grandchildren let her have time! She met Eugene Henry, whom she travelled with to Vegas, the mountains, and British Columbia. He put life into her and she was happy being with him before becoming a widow once again. She moved into Northcote Manor where she made many dear friends and was loved and admired by those she met. Mom was a strong woman who faced many challenges and losses in her life and yet, she put on a brave face for the world. During her last few months of life, she showed us how brave and strong she really was!
Verna leaves behind her daughter, Luanne, and her children Ryan (Kayla), Michael (Dez), Shawn, Jenna (Conor) and Laura (Dane); her daughter, Sara, and her children Ashton, Megan (Nyles), Nick, Mykelti (Josh), Lee (Breanna), and Kaden.
