Valerie Charrette, late of Prince Albert, passed away on December 15, 2022, at the age of 66 years. Valerie grew up in Meadow Lake, SK, and completed Business College in Prince Albert. She married Kim Miller and together they had two children, Angela and Paul. She enjoyed a career in Multiculturalism which took her to Edmonton, later returning to Prince Albert. Valerie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and other family members and when she was able, enjoyed trips to the mountains and the special trip to Jaret’s wedding. She looked forward to her grandchildren’s visits and the daily morning phone calls with her sister Leone and the good night text messages which came faithfully each night before 10 p.m. with Angela, Paul and Shirley. Valerie was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Parish. In her spare time, she liked to do puzzles, watch game shows and The Young & The Restless, and was thrilled when she was able to meet one of the show’s main characters, Victor Newman, in person! As well, Valerie delighted in going for rides to the lake and sitting on the beach. She had a very special way of doing things and cherished everything she was ever given, keeping it tucked away safely in the box it came in. She often remarked that her children were the best thing that ever happened to her and that was evident in the way she cared for them always.
Valerie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Angela Miller and Paul Miller (Marissa); her grandchildren, Madison Nicholson, Norelle Miller, Gracelyn Miller and Aryss Miller; her siblings, Leone (John) Bell, Lionel Charrette, Shirley (Hilton) Warren; her special caregiving niece, Laurie Bell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was predeceased by her parents, Bert and Irene Charrette; her brothers, Allan and Maurice Charrette; her maternal grandparents, George and Emma Anderson; and her paternal grandparents: Moise and Elize Charrette.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Beaulieu and the Nurses on the 6th Floor, especially Alyson, at the Victoria Hospital, for their wonderful care of our Mom.
