Trach (Bonkowski) – Ann
July 26, 1927 – July 15, 2014
It is with profound sadness that we announce our mother, Ann's passing. She leaves us after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's on July 15, 2014 at the Herb Bassett Home. All six daughters surrounded Mom as she continues her journey to meet the love of her life of 61 years, Peter.
Ann will join her parents Prokop & Tekla Bonkowski, brother John Bonkowski, parents-in-law Fred Tracz and Maria Barillo, brothers-in-law James Stoyko, Andrew Oranchuk, Mike Track and sisters-in-law Sophie Oranchuk, Jean Stoyko, Margaret Track and son-in-law Michael von Euw.
Mom was born in Honeymoon, July 26, 1927 and was the youngest of 3 children. She met and fell in love with Peter and married on October 20, 1946. They began their life together farming in Kalyna, Saskatchewan.
She leaves behind her six daughters: June Bossons of Vancouver, BC, Sandra Redhead of Richmond, BC, Donna Hradecki (Ron Bird) of St. Louis, SK, Bonnie Cain (Larry) of Saskatoon, SK, Shelley Trach (Bob Gouldsborough) of Saskatoon, SK and Jackie Trach of Surrey, BC; her grandchildren: Derek Hradecki (Sarah Lagacé) of Kronau, SK, Brandon & Austin Cain of Saskatoon, SK, Anna & Jackson von Euw of Surrey, BC.
This poem is our tribute to Mom:
You Were There…
You were there when we took our first steps,
And went unsteadily across the floor.
You pushed and prodded: encouraged and guided,
Until our steps took us out the door…
You worry now “Are they ok?”
Is there more you could have done?
As we walk the paths of our unknown
You wonder “Where have my children gone?”
Where we are is where you have led us,
With your special love you showed us a way,
To believe in ourselves and the decisions we make.
Taking on the challenge of life day-to-day.
And where we go you can be sure,
In spirit you shall never be alone.
For where you are is what matters most to us,
Because to us that will always be home…
