Tony Yannacoulias passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 with family at his side. Tony was born March 6, 1952 in Athens, Greece to Vasilios and Vasiliki Yannacoulias. In 1969 he immigrated to Canada, first to Montreal, Quebec. While in Montreal in 1970 he met the love of his life, Maria. Together they moved to Regina, and in 1976 to Prince Albert where they owned and operated the Venice House Family Restaurant. They were married in 1980 and together they were blessed with 2 children Viki and Antony. Tony enjoyed travelling to many places including Greece, other European countries, North America and Barbados, and sometimes even drove non-stop until he reached his destination. Their travels have also allowed them to see Canada from coast to coast. Tony is survived by his wife and partner of 42 years Maria; his daughter Viki (Seyi Abe) and their son Isaiah; his son Antony; his sister-in-law Phyllis Nurse; as well as numerous other relatives in Canada and Greece. He was predeceased by his parents Vasilios and Vasiliki Yannacoulias. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Father George Tolias officiating. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at The Greek Orthodox Church – Koimisis Tis Theotokou, 1020 Dufferin Avenue, Saskatoon, SK with Reverend Father George Tolias officiating. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Huntington Society of Canada, 151 Frederick St, Suite 400, Kitchener, ON N2H 2M2 or to a charity of donor’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Marianne Turcotte, Funeral Director.
