May 30, 1934 – February 21, 2024
It is with heavy hearts the family of Tina Otte announce her passing on February 21, 2024, in Prince Albert, SK.
Tina was born on May 30, 1934, to Mike and Anna Boyko. She met and married Edward Otte, together they built a home and business in Prince Albert while raising their two children.
Tina was a talented woman who spent her life working in offices at the Stockyards, then Burns, and then on to run the office for their busy electrical contracting business for over thirty years until Ed’s passing in 2000. She worked tirelessly as a volunteer, sewing costumes for the Figure Skating Club, creating amazing show pieces for their ice-shows. She also began training dogs, travelling for dog shows, and eventually became a show judge herself. She also started and for many years ran the first dog obedience class in Prince Albert. Her artistic talents were known by all who knew her, and no challenge was to much for her. Everything she did had a special flare of perfection.
Tina was addicted to antiquing, and amassed a huge collection of beautiful pieces. For a few years she offered pieces for sale in her antique store. She even became an auctioneer “just for fun”. Her love of gardening kept her busy until her failing health gradually brought that enjoyment to an end. Tina led a full life and accomplished so much.
Tina is survived by her daughter, Tina (Paul) Rybka; her four grandchildren, Aaron Rybka and his children Alexcia, Skye, Rowan, and Ryker, Michelle (Keegan) Hawreluik and their children Payton, Weston, and Destyn, Marissa (Chris) Kostyk and their son Edward, and Adam Rybka; her brothers Albert (Olympia) Boyko and Raymond (Lana) Boyko; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; son, David; her parents, Anna and Mike Boyko; in-laws, Edward and Helen Otte; infant great-grandchildren, Angel Rybka, Colby and Bailey Hawreluik, and Benjamin Kostyk; her sister, Violet Boyko; brothers, Russel Boyko, John Boyko, and Otto Boyko; brother-in-law James “Jim” Otte; sisters-in-law, Alice Boyko, Doreen Boyko, Melba Boyko, and Sonja Otte.
