Tommy Ruszkowski late of Prince Albert, SK passed away unexpectedly due to an industrial accident on August 7, 2013. Dad passed doing exactly what he loved to do best, driving a semi truck. Tommy was born on December 30, 1935 at the family farm in Fanford, SK. He was the 10th child born to Frank SR. and Maria Ruszkowski. Dad always talked about how he learned the “Golden Rule” at Fanford. He is survived by his 6 children; Michael (Karen) & their children Bradley (Lydia), Ryan and Michelle; Donald (Lori) & their children Dustin and Dallas; Kim; Donna Fiala (Daniel Matheson) & her children Cayle and Cody; Carolyn (Dale) Plewis; Marty (Diane) & their children Luke and Paige. He is also survived by his children's Mother Carmen Ruszkowski. Tommy also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers; Eddy, Frank Jr. (Beatrice), Teddy (Shirley) and Peter (Stephanie); his sisters Jean (Metro) Abramyk and Margaret (Bert) Majchrowski; his sisters-in-law Delphine and Rita Ruszkowski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. Tommy was predeceased by his loving partner Ruby (lovey) Kosik; his parents Frank Sr. and Maria (Grassick); his siblings Joe (Mary), Jack, George, Rosie (Bob) Salisbury, Mary, Clarence and sister-in-law Anne Ruszkowski. Dad moved from his family and the farm at the age of 17 to start his long trucking career. Dad trucked throughout Western Canada loving all the miles and friendships trucking afforded him.He returned to Prince Albert in the early 60's and continued his trucking passion till his very last day. Dad was an avid Raider fan, their number one fan. Dad's love for hockey is still present and shining through his grandchildren. Dad you will be sadly missed and never forgotten. We know you're “Gone Trucking”. Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 with Mrs. Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 with Celebrant Reverend Father Tuan Doan. Both services will be held at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Prince Albert Raiders Hockey Fund, 690 – 32nd Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 2W8.
