It is with heavy hearts that the family of Thomas “Tom” Herbert McNabb announce his passing August 27th, 2025. Tom was born September 25, 1947, to Sam and Mildred McNabb in Prince Albert, SK. He was the oldest of five children. He attended Queen Mary School and Prince Albert Technical High School where he gained the nickname of speedster in the many track meets he entered through school. Tom loved the outdoors, spending his younger years fishing for sturgeon and camping with his family at Galloway’s Point. Family was very important to him, so he started his lifelong pastime documenting family history of both the McNabb and Bird family. With 57 first cousins his work was cut out for him. He attended all family functions, camera around his neck and saying, “smile”, to each person as he took their picture.

Tom worked at Burns in Prince Albert, SK, transferring to Edmonton, AB, then Calgary, AB, with that company. When Burns closed in Calgary, AB, he gained employment with Canada Post as a mail sorter until he retired in 2014.

Tom is survived by his siblings, Sam (Brenda) McNabb and daughter Christine (Robby); Linda (David) Harris and family D.J. and Kyle (Becca); His niece and nephew, Cory (Nikki) and Crystal; and many great-nieces and nephews, family, and friends. Tom is predeceased by his parents, Sam and Mildred McNabb; his brothers, Doug (Barb) McNabb and Ed McNabb; and his sister in infancy, Carolyn.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 1, 2025, at St. Alban’s Anglican Cathedral. A complete obituary will be updated when available. Refreshments will follow in St. Albans Anglican Cathedral Hall. In lieu of other tributes, donations in Tom’s memory can be made to St. Halcro Cemetery (Co: Linda Harris, RR#2 Prince Albert, SK S6V 5P9)
