Therese was born in Mattes, SK on March 28, 1926, to parents, William and Emilia Sevigny. She passed away quietly at Good Shepherd Villas, holding tightly to her rosary, on August 25, 2024, at the age of 98 years.
She was one of 13 children and took her schooling in Mattes. With a grade 8 education she then stayed home to help raise her younger siblings. She met and married Aril Larose and they resided in Port Alberni, BC until after their first son Gerald was born. They then moved to Debden and made their home on the Larose Family Farm. Their son, Cederic and daughter, Louise, were born in Prince Albert. The whole family worked hard on the farm. Therese loved nature, flowers and birds especially. She grew a huge garden and canned up to 400 jars of vegetables, fruits and meat. She raised chickens, milked cows, raised her children and did a great job of all of these things. She was always ready for company, especially Sunday dinners after church with family and friends. After the passing of Aril, she met and married Bill Robinson. They enjoyed travelling, vacationing in Hawaii and spending winter months in Arizona. She and Bill had a place in their hearts for touring around the countryside on their motorcycles. She was known to friends and family as “Motorcycle Mama”.
From Debden they moved to Prince Albert and the last 14 years, Therese made her home at Good Shepherd Villas in Prince Albert.
She loved crafts, knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting and baking. She won numerous red ribbons for her entries into the fair and other competitions. She was admired for her delicate detailing in her scratch art pictures. She loved her family and enjoyed going out for family suppers, playing and wininng at cards or just taking a plain ride in the country.
The Staff and residents at the Good Shepherd were her second family and she loved them dearly.
On behalf of Therese, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone there for being such great friends and care givers to Mom. Thank you to Pat and Dorothy for being there throughout her stay. Thank you to Dr. Alana Surkan for participating in her end of life care.
