Therese Beauchesne (Dubé) passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Villa, Prince Albert, on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the age of 91 years. She was born June 20, 1923, in Big River, SK, to Alexia and Napoleon Dubé. She was the youngest of four children. She grew up on the farm spending her summers berry picking, swimming, working in the garden and helping her dad with haying. Winters were spent skating over local lakes. After high school, Therese worked at the Big River Post Office for two years. In 1943, she attended Normal School in Saskatoon to obtain her Teacher’s Certificate. In her early years, Therese taught in Beegin School (between Henribourg and Paddockwood), and also in the Fir Ridge area. On August 3, 1948, she married Robert (Bob) Beauchesne from Albertville, where they built their farm and home. In the mid-fifties, Therese taught up North in Pinehouse and Buffalo Narrows. She would be home for the summer and then her husband would work up North with her during the winter. In 1960, she began teaching in Meath Park. Therese retired in 1979. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, working in her garden and yard, knitting and donating her time to the Albertville Community Club and other various community activities. Several years ago, Therese and Bob sold their farm and moved to Good Shepherd Villa in Prince Albert. Bob passed away three years ago, and Therese found it difficult to carry on alone. Although she never had children of her own, she was grandma to several neighbor children in Albertville, a teacher and friend to many students, and a very special aunt to several nieces and nephews. Therese was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Alice Larsen and Leone Oldham and her brother Roland Dubé. She is survived by her sister-in-law Florence Casavant and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 29 at River Park Memorial Chapel. Celebrant will be Father DJ Vu. Interment will follow at St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery, Albertville. A special thank you to the management and staff at Good Shepherd for the excellent level of care provided to Therese over the years, and especially during her final days. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Prince Albert, 306 764-2727, Carla Jesso, Funeral Director.
