Hey… we know that guy!
Terry passed away peacefully at home on December 1st, 2025. He was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Eddie and Margie Saher on October 12th, 1942. He went to work in Swift Current where he met, and married Carol and they loved each other for who they both were… different and alike in many ways. They married December 2nd, 1967. They had their daughter Zoie in 1970. They then relocated to Saskatoon in 1973, and Terry worked at Western Radiator before moving to Prince Albert in 1989, where they settled to stay. Terry worked at PA Radiator for a number of years, then a Commissionaire, and then at the Northern Lights Casino. Finally, he worked at Walmart, where he was known as the “Popcorn Man”. He finally retired from Walmart at 80 years old. He had also been known as “Scooter” for riding his two wheeled scooter about. Terry was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Army & Navy in Prince Albert. Terry knew everybody, and everybody knew Terry. Here are some of our shared memories. Our Dad loved fishing just like his Mom, playing darts with his Dad at the family cabin in Madge Lake, and playing cribbage with family by the fire. He also enjoyed spending time and fishing at Bill’s cabin in Candle Lake. He liked to watch sports, eat chicken wings, and he often made his famous spaghetti sauce for the Super Bowl. At Christmas, he enjoyed the prank gifts we would get him. He loved to try and spoil our Mom with gifts, he did love to shop! Humour, wit, and wisecracks were usually the way he connected with people. He really enjoyed music, and at full blast! He played for years in a shuffleboard league, enjoyed Music Bingo and Jam Nights at the Legion, he rarely missed an event. He also enjoyed making popcorn for events at the Legion, he still loved being the “Popcorn Man”. He adopted many stray cats and dogs; he also liked to suntan on the deck until “well done’ “and took to bird watching in his later years. He liked working on small engines and building things. Terry is survived by his wife Carol; four children; Leanne (Wayne), Shannon (Todd), Darren (Kelly), and Zoie; his seven grandchildren; Jennifer, Pieter (Brooke), Cassandra (Peter), Cole (Robyn), Shae, Katelynn (Devis), Zachary; plus, his seven great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his outgoing nature, wit, and humour with others, and always having a good time when he was here. The family would like to thank Melanie Curle and the staff at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel for their kindness and professionalism in helping with Terry’s arrangements, and to the Royal Canadian Legion for your kind support. We would also like to send a special thank you to Rick Hodgson, Erin Bergen, and Laura Watson from the Legion, the ladies with the hot meals, Terry & Carol’s neighbour Anthony, for all of your support, kindness and compassion during this difficult time, and to all those who sent kind words and support, we truly appreciate your love and kindness. A Celebration of Life for Terry will be announced at a later date.
