Edward “Ted” Richard TRUEMAN

February 5, 1936 – February 21, 2017

Ted passed away peacefully on February 21, 2017 at the Nipawin Hospital at the age of 81.  He was born on February 5, 1936 in Spruce Home, SK and was raised in the Henribourg, Spruce Home area.  While working for a company building elevators he met Anita “Nettie” Caruk and shortly after on November 29, 1958 they were married in Prince Albert, SK.  The couple spent the next 12 years farming in the Spruce Home district.  In 1970 Ted and Nettie moved to Shellbrook where they farmed and raised their family.  After Nettie’s passing in 1998 he moved to Snowden, SK, continuing to farm with his son Dennis.  Ted is survived by; sister Joyce Trueman; children Belinda (Garry) Barkway – Christopher (Melissa), Mikayla, Sophie and Avery, Danielle (James) Prebble – Isabelle and Henry; Dennis (Eileen) Trueman – Jamie, Rick, Laurie and Darcy; Sharon (Charles Biron) Trueman – Angela, Charlene, Aaron, Brenda and Carmen.  Ted was predeceased by his wife Anita “Nettie”; daughter Janice and brother Norman.  Ted enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing.  At the age of 78 he harvested his first elk and the next year his first moose.  In later years, he enjoyed spending time with his friend and companion Jackie, travelling the countryside checking out crops, cattle and the abundant wildlife in the local area.  Ted will be remembered as a cattleman and for his tireless work ethic.  Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 – 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK S7H 0S5 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 54 – 11th Street East, Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z9.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729.
