Tanya Rose Sinclair
1976 ~ 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Tanya Rose Sinclair (née Hansen), also affectionately known as Kookoo by all her grandbabies.
Tanya was born in Regina, SK on May 21, 1976, to Lynda Hansen. Not long after, Lynda married Thomas Flath who proudly called Tanya his own. She was raised in Pinehouse Lake, SK, where she also went to school and spent a lot of time with her cousins. She and her cousin Betty Tinker were inseparable, sharing many great memories. Her aunties, Freida and Georgina, were her pillars, whom she liked to refer to as her moms. Tanya took on a job at the Key Lake mine in 1994, where she met the love of her life. In 1996, Tanya and Dennis welcomed Megan Marie Hansen-Sinclair into the world and in 2010, Carter Jay Sinclair was born. Tanya had a heart of gold and welcoming persona. When she met Dennis, he already had kids of his own, but Tanya did not hesitate in accepting them as her own. She became mom to Destiny, Chase, and Katie.
In 2008, Tanya and Dennis became Kookoo and Grandpa to Taylor McPeek, followed by Paiton Sinclair, Lukan Sundara, Aaleyah Koot, Declan McPeek, Chase Sinclair Jr., Asher Koot, Liam McPeek, Alexander Sinclair, Roman Sinclair, Clara Jahnert-Sinclair, and Mayzie McPeek.
Tanya’s huge and caring heart shone through when she opened a foster home 25 years ago, then a personal care home that she continued to run until her passing. Her presence will be missed by all her past and present clients.
In 2023, Tanya used her EPIC shopping skills to open up Kookoo’s Consignment and Retail Store in Prince Albert, which became a thriving shop that she and Megan were very passionate about.
We couldn’t have asked for a better wife, mom, and Kookoo. She loved her dad, Tom, and will be missed by her brothers, Ryan Hansen, Jonathan Flath; and her sisters, Trina Flath, Amy Hansen and Jamie Wincough; as well as by her many aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Tanya was predeceased by her mom, Lynda Flath; Grandpa, Richard “Dick” Hansen; Grandma, Mary Antoinette Hansen; Auntie, Freida Maurice; and many cousins.
The Funeral Service for Tanya will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK. Interment will take place at a later date.
