It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear and precious mother and grandmother, Sylvia Stankowski. Sylvia will be deeply missed by her four daughters, Teresa (Kelly) Kosowan of Prince Albert, SK, Janice (Paul) Dobrowolski of Prince Albert, SK, Colleen (George) Balas of Warman, SK and Bonnie (Ted) Boutin of St. Louis, SK; her special grandchildren, Tarrin Kosowan, Kristen Dobrowolski, Nicole Dobrowolski, Karlee Boutin, Troy Boutin, Nathan Balas, Braden Balas and Taylor Balas; her sister Rose (Walter) Regush of Rosthern, SK and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Hubert; her parents Steve and Mary Kostiuk; her sister Elsie Kostiuk and brother Bob (Lesia) Kostiuk. Sylvia was born in Alvena, SK on December 5, 1944. The family moved to St. Louis, SK where she grew up and took her schooling. She met Hubert and they married in 1960. They began their life together and made their home on the Stankowski farm in MacDowall. Their life was spent proudly working side by side farming and raising their four precious daughters. Mom had a love and special gift for cooking and gardening. Time spent with her family visiting and laughing was most important to Mom. There are many words that describe her and she was truly a wonderful person and role model and will be forever in our hearts. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 – 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Michael Fahlman. Private Family Interment will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
