The family of Susan Witchekan are deeply saddened to announce that she passed away suddenly and peacefully at Evergreen Health Centre in Leoville, SK on January 7, 2017. Susan was born to Witchekan Lake First Nation on July 4, 1946 to Louisa and Charlie Witchekan.
The wake service for Susan began at 8:00pm on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Pelican Lake FirstNation Band Hall. The funeral service for Susan commenced at 11:00am on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Pelican Lake First Nation Band Hall with the Elders officiating. Interment followed in the Pelican Lake First Nation Cemetery.
Susan is lovingly remembered by: her husband, Michael “Mike” Harris; her children: Shirley (Allan) Morin, Phillip (Ursula) Witchekan, Wayne Harris, Clinton Witchekan, Barry (Phyllis) Witchekan, Pauline (Gilbert) Witchekan, Leroy (Sheila) Witchekan, Donna Witchekan, Doreen (Renald) Witchekan, Shania Witchekan as well as her adopted children: Richard Harris (Joanne Beston), Leanne Harris and 40 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Susan is also remembered by her brothers and sisters: Johhny Witchekan, Henry Witchekan, Doris (Brian) Binning and Delores (Jake) Witchekan as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is predeceased by: her parents, Charlie and Louisa Witchekan; her parents-in-law, Harry and Jane Harris; her brothers and sisters, Mike, Mary, Jenny, Liza and George; her aunt, Florence Harris and her uncle, Pete Fox.
Pallbearers were: Frederick Harris, Wayne Bill, Ivan Harris, Ivor Sakebow, Jimmy Bill and Wade Harris. Honourary pallbearers were all family and friends who knew and loved her.
