Susan Kasko
March 4, 1917 – August 2, 2012
Linda and Verna are saddened to let you know of the passing of their 95 year old mother, Susan Kasko. Susan was predeceased by her son Sidney; her husband Walter; her parents Mary and John Prytula; and her in-laws Mary and John Kasko. Susan and Walter farmed three quarters of land in Steep Creek for 45 years until their retirement to Prince Albert. Susan tended a bountiful garden, cared for the animals, baked bread, preserved berries, attended Ladies Aid, raised her children and made wonderful Christmas dinners. Her love for the outdoors, birds, flowers and gardening never faded. She enjoyed any reason to be outdoors, regularly raking leaves until she was 94 when walking became difficult. In her senior years, she enjoyed doing search-a-word puzzles, watching baseball, curling and her favorite shows The Price is Right and The Wheel of Fortune. She had simple tastes and appreciated the little joys in life. Susan was always delighted to see pawprints in the snow. She said her rosary daily and faithfully attended St. Joseph Church. Her family was very dear to her heart as she was to ours. She will be dearly missed. A Funeral Mass was held on August 8, 2012 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with celebrant Reverend Father Roque Concepcion. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Charity of Donor's Choice. Condolences may be sent to Linda and Verna at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director.
