Support Facilitator - Jordan's Principle

At PAECIP, we are looking to add a hardworking, trustworthy and honest Support Facilitator to our team.
The Support Facilitator position is a full time position, who will be working closely with First Nation families who have children (age 7-18) with different needs, developmental delays and/or disabilities. Knowledge and understanding of First Nation culture, as well as child development and various paramedical services, is important in this role.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Excellent written and spoken communications
-Connecting families to resources within their communities, as well agencies and services that may be of help to the child.
-maintaining client confidentiality
-Helping families with Jordan’s Principle applications for services and equipment to improve the child’s developmental journey
-Following up on Jordan’s Principle applications
-Maintaining paperwork and documentation regarding all applications made for each child
-Liaising with school educational supports regarding children on caseload
-Use of work vehicle to travel to service areas
Skills and Knowledge required:
-Self motivation
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Problem solving skills
-Well organized and professional in all aspects of work life
-Knowledge of Jordan’s Principle and the application process
-Basic knowledge of school systems and extra therapies children may need
-2 or more years post secondary education, in related fields (Nursing, social work, education) experience in these fields will also count – if there is no post secondary
Must produce a drivers abstract and clear Police checks/Vulnerable Sector checks before being hired.
