Stephen Slack

Stephen James Walton Slack, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away in Saskatoon, SK, on July 23, 2023, at the age of 45 years.
Stephen was born on July 28, 1977, in Vancouver, BC. He graduated from High School in Barrhead, AB in 1995, along side his close buddies, Wade, Atul, Scott, and Travis. He attended the University of Alberta where he met his wife Amy, and completed his BSc in Forest Business Management in 2001. As a new couple after graduation they settled in Slave Lake, AB, starting their careers and working together to build their company, Mistik Environmental Services. Stephen was also an active member of the Lesser Slave Regional Fire Service. In 2015, his family moved to Prince Albert, SK, where he worked as a forestry contractor and finally as a Utility Arborist on SaskPower’s vegetation team.
Stephen’s two children, Lilly and Owen, were his pride and joy. His friendly nature, infectious giggle, and zest for life while living it to the fullest attracted life-long friends. At the time of his passing he was with his special friend, Martha.
Stephen will be lovingly remembered by, his daughter, Lilly Slack; his son, Owen Slack; his mother, Sonja Slack; his father, William (Rebecca) Slack; his sister, Shannon (Neil) Armstrong; his nephews, William and Aiden Armstrong; his aunts and uncles: Lisa Dykyj, Ken Lancaster, Hermann (Julie) Schwarz, Jamie (Ginny Langille) Slack, and Margaret (Doug) Rumsey; as well as numerous cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Felix & Maria Schwarz, and James “Jim” & Flora Slack; his aunts, Monika Lancaster and Barb McNeely; and his uncle, Michael Dykyj.
A Public Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, 300B – 300 Marquis Road West, Prince Albert, SK. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 5210 50 Street, Barrhead, AB. Please join the family for lunch following the service.
