Sister Aline Blais

Sister Aline Blais of the Sisters of the Presentation, passed away on November 22, 2023, at the age of 92, in Prince Albert, SK. The Prayer Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at our Care Home at 3101 3rd Ave. East, Prince Albert, SK; The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 4th Ave West, Prince Albert, SK.

Sister Aline was the 6th child of a family of eight children. She was brought up in a religious atmosphere. Her first years of schooling from 1-8 were in Mattes, SK, and continued at Stobart School, Duck Lake. In 1948, Sister Aline entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. She became a conscientious and patient teacher. She taught at St. Paul’s School in Prince Albert, in Spiritwood Public High School, in The Pas and St. Lazare, Manitoba.  She was well liked and respected by her students.

For many years she became the Religious Coordinator for the Sunday School at Holy Rosary Church in Winnipeg, MB. Her organizational and communication skills were remarkable and appreciated by the parish.

In her retirement years, her compassionate heart went out to do some volunteer work at Thrift Shops, and visiting the elderly and the sick.

She was devoted to her religious community, always welcoming and spontaneous concern and readiness to give a helping hand. She was a relational person making people feel welcomed.

When her health diminished Sr. Aline was transferred to Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert. We are thankful to the staff who gave her excellent Health Care.

Sister Aline will be remembered for her deep faith, her love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, her zeal and joyful sincerity in the service of God and God’s people.
