Simone Poulin March 3, 1934 – December 15, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Simone Poulin (nee Hudon) announces her peaceful passing on Dec. 15, 2025 at age 91 with family members at her side.

Simone was born, spent her childhood and attended school in St. Louis, SK.  She was the 4^th of 6 children of Honorine and Philippe Hudon.

In July of 1952 Simone married Ernest Poulin and together they raised 6 children.

Simone spent the better part of her life on the family farm south of Prince Albert doing all the things that encompass farm life.  She spent many hours tending the garden, flower beds, and farm animals and then preserving food to feed her family over the long winters.

She was especially proud of her flower gardens and later in life turned one into a rock garden where she painted a rock for each grandchild complete with their name and their interests at that moment in their life.

She also spent many hours crocheting and knitting many toques, scarves, mittens and slippers for her children and grandchildren.

The whole Poulin family spent many hours socializing with their friends, neighbours and relatives. This was often playing cards and singing and dancing to the music supplied by the numerous musicians in the family and circle of friends.

Simone and Ernie also enjoyed camping and berry picking in the summer as well as ice fishing in the winter.

After the children had grown and left home Simone found employment at Woolco/Walmart and worked there until her retirement in 1999.

In 2014 Simone and Ernie left the farm and moved to the city.  A couple of years later with health failing Ernie moved to a care home.  Simone spent her days at the care home helping Ernie and keeping him company until his passing in March, 2019.

Simone then spent a few years living independently in the condo until failing health required her to move to Mont St. Joseph Care Home where she resided until her passing.  We would like to thank the staff at Mont St. Joseph for the excellent care, love and support mom received. We will forever be grateful.

Survived by her children, Louis (Janice), Allen, Janine (Dave Dubyk) and Anita (Cam MacDonald); grandchildren, Alissa (Greg), Marc (Tanya), Jon (Emma), Ryan (Amanda), Chad, Kevin (Tia), Chrissy (Rob), David (Melissa), Michael (Janet), Shane (Raelee), Sheena, Jeffrey (Stephanie), Shawn (Amy), Donovan (Hilary), Michael (Alexis) and Justin (Melissa); 28 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; sister, Dorothy (Delmas); and sisters-in-law,  Kathleen and Lorraine Hudon.

Predeceased by her husband, Ernest Poulin; sons, Paul and Gerald; grandson, Mitchell; her parents, Philippe and Honorine Hudon; siblings, Hector (Marie), Hubert, Marie, and Edward.
