Sherry Cowan (nee: Buckingham) passed away peacefully at her home in Big River, Saskatchewan, on December 10, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Sherry was born on July 4, 1951, to Arthur and Ruth Buckingham. She was the second of twelve children, who grew up in North Battleford and Big River. After completing high school, Sherry moved to Saskatoon and completed her Cosmetologist Diploma at Marvel.

Sherry worked as a hairdresser and owned her own salon before working as a care aid at the Big River Nursing Home. She was always active in the community, serving on health boards, recreation boards, and golf club and Royal Purple. She enjoyed curling, baseball, pickleball, playing cards and really loved golfing. She spent her time at her cabins on Lac La Ronge, Delaronde, and Cree Lake, always surrounded by family and friends.
Sherry will be deeply missed by her loving husband, her three children, two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous family and friends. Her memory will live on through the lives she has enriched through her love and support.
