Shelley May Gamelin
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2025 in Edmonton, Alberta. Shelley was born on August 29, 1960, in Prince -Albert, where she grew up. Shelley was 64 years old. She attended Saint Joseph’s and Bouche school. Shelley took piano lessons as a child, and was a very loyal friend. Shelley will be remembered by her siblings as the one who would bring home stray cats to care for. Shelley grew up very close to her siblings.
Shelley left Prince-Albert around 1992,and started a new journey in Edmonton, Alberta, where she raised her five children and worked primarily in the printing industry. Once her children were grown, Shelley decided to venture to Victoria B.C, where she lived amongst the blue skies and ocean waves for many years. She later returned to Edmonton to be with her children and grandchildren, where she remained until her passing.
Shelley had a heart of gold and wanted to help others in need, even if only in small gestures. Her heart was pure and she was one of the kindest people around. Her smile, her humor, her laughter will always be remembered.
Shelley retired early and enjoyed gardening, planting flowers on her balcony where she would often sit. Shelley also found enjoyment in arts and crafts, painting, knitting, and of course, her 2 cats. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren who all adored her deeply. Shelley had a very special place in her heart for her son, Kyle, who she always called her “number one”. Shelley was truly a beautiful woman inside and out, and it will not be the same without her.
Shelley was predeceased by her mother, Shirley Gamelin, and her father, Austin Gamelin, both of Prince-Albert. She was also predeceased by her brother, Harvey Gamelin, who she deeply missed.
Shelley is survived by her five children, one daughter, and four sons, all of Edmonton. Amber,Kyle, Dave, Willard, and Gordon. Her beautiful sisters, Bonnie Wintringham, Michelle Gamelin, and Shannon Weisgerber, brother-in-law Kevin Weisgerber, all of Prince -Albert. Seven grandchildren Kayla, Taylor, Erika, Christopher, Savanna, Gabriel and Lucy. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A private service was held with the closest loved ones, on August 2 ,2025 in Edmonton. Alberta with cremation to follow.
You are near, even if we don’t see you, you are with us, even if you are far away. You are in our hearts, in our thoughts, in our lives, always.
We all miss you deeply and love you very much. May your sorrows, and pain be gone now, and the love of the heavens above bring you peace and all the love you forever deserve.
