It is with heavy hearts that the Mannix family has to announce the passing of Sheldon Mannix. Sheldon was born June 10, 1967 in Edam, Saskatchewan to Lois and Ron Mannix. Him and his older brother Ken were inseparable. They moved to Prince Albert in 1972. Sheldon was always a happy child. He had many friends growing up, but his best friend was Dwayne Koledreski, the two of them were like two peas in a pod. Sheldon and Dwayne worked together at Bonanza in high school. Sheldon graduated from Carlton High School and quickly signed up with the armed forces in 1986. He was first stationed in Victoria, BC. Back in P.A, he met his first love Ginette Branger, they married and had two children, Jordan and Kelsey. They lived on the Military base in Edmonton for several years . Sheldon had tours in Kosovo and Afghanistan, where he suffered with PTSD. Unfortunately he was not able to overcome his demons.
Sheldon moved back to Prince Albert mid 2000’s. Sheldon was the proud grandpa of his little Peanut, Ellie, she was the sparkle in his eye. For many years, Sheldon worked for Nagy Construction as an Apprentice Carpenter , Mark and Frank were his second family, he even called Frank “Grandpa”. Sheldon loved camping and fishing. Sandy lake in the PANP, was his “Happy Place”. Him and his dog Jake would camp there most every summer. If he didn’t catch any fish, he would go to Bev’s Seafood, he could have fish everyday. Sheldon was an avid Saskatchewan Roughrider fan, he collected flags, hats and a signed #89 Getzlaf jersey. You always knew when it was game day with Sheldon. Him and Jake would “rock out” in their Rider gear.
Sheldon was predeceased by his father, Ron Mannix in 2022, his grandmother, Flora Longpre in 2002, his grandfather, Edgar Longpre in 1982, his grandmother, Edna Mannix in 1978, his grandfather, George Mannix in 1976, his uncle David Mannix in 2003, his uncle Nelson Hall in 2021 and his best friend, Dwayne Kolendreski in 2018.
