Shelby Jane Gryba, 64, of Prince Albert, SK, passed away on March 29, 2026, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK, surrounded by her loving family.

Shelby was born to John and Carolyn Chornawka on December 29, 1961, in Swan River, MB. She grew up in the Swan River area and attended school there before building a life filled with family, hard work, and quiet strength.

Shelby married the love of her life, Alvin Gryba, and together they raised three sons: Brendon, Julian, and Justin. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose home was always open and whose love was steady and unconditional. Shelby was known for her kind heart, her resilience, and the way she cared deeply for her family. She found joy in the simple moments-spending time with loved ones, creating memories, and being there for those who needed her.

Shelby is survived by her husband, Alvin; her sons, Brendon (Allyssa), Julian (Sara), and Justin (Abby); her grandchildren, Charlee, Toby, Lucy, Keith, and Nina; mother, Carolyn Chornawka; siblings, Sandra (Doron) Paz, Gailynn (Arden) Biletsky, Sheila Chornawka-Purser, Sheldon (Janice) Chornawka, Jerry Toffin, and extended family and friends who will miss her greatly.

She was predeceased by her father, John Chornawka, and her sister, Roxanne Toffin.

A private family service will be held.

Shelby’s gentle spirit and the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
