The family of Sharon Jean Demers (nee Wittig) sadly announce her passing on January 6, 2021. She was born on November 29, 1940.
When growing up, Sharon’s dad was self-employed, so they moved around Saskatchewan a number of times. Sharon’s mom, Eileen, was a teacher.
In Sharon’s final year of nursing training, she met the love of her life, Raymond “Bob” Demers. Upon graduating, she worked in Watrous, Rosthern, and Saskatoon City Hospital, eventually getting a position in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit where she worked for 28 years.
She and Bob had many adventures, involving camping, hunting and fishing. While living in Saskatoon, they were very involved with the Royal Purple/Elks Club. They loved to entertain and everyone enjoyed the food and beautiful table she set. After retiring, they sold their home in Saskatoon, and moved to Emma Lake. They had many friends at the lake, many involved around the ski-doo club and the Lions Club.
Sharon is survived by her husband of nearly 54 years Raymond “Bob”; brothers, Dwayne and Ron; sisters-in-law Ruth, Marilyn and Judy; brother-in-law, Paul; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mom and dad, Fred and Eileen Wittig; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hector and Helen Demers.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation Of Canada, Saskatchewan Branch – 2217 Hanselman Ct #1, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8.
A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be announced in the summer.
