It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Saül Théorêt passed away peacefully on February 21, 2016. Saül was born May 17, 1922 in Bellevue, Saskatchewan. He married Yolande Gaudet on September 3rd, 1947 and they celebrated sixty-six years of marriage in 2013. Saül and Yolande farmed in Bellevue for almost fifty years until they moved to Saskatoon in 2006 to be closer to several of their children. Together they raised eleven children with faith, optimism and unconditional love. Saul was as comfortable in solitude, driving up and down the fields while musing on the meaning of life, as he was enjoying good conversations with family, friends, neighbors or strangers encountered in his travels. He had a joie de vivre and young and old were drawn to his engaging and outgoing personality. Everyone he met was treated with courtesy, dignity, and utmost respect. Saul was a man of strong character and sound morals and we celebrate a life well lived. Saül will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Ephrem (Rosemarie), Eugene (Karen), Léo, André (Carmen), Denis (Rita), James (Cherylee); his daughters, Clarisse (Isidore) Boutin, Lucie (Claude Weil), Dorothée (Danny) Theoret-Yee, Jeanne (Vern) Kustaski, Lorraine (Paul Leseberg); 33 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Norbert and Théodore (France); his sister Julienne; his brother-in-law Sylvio (Norma) Gaudet; and numerous nephews and nieces. Saül was predeceased by his beloved wife Yolande on March 10, 2014; his parents Procule and Antoinette (Leduc) Théorêt; his siblings and sisters-in-law, Urbain, Graziella, Sylvio (Angèle), Désiré (Renée), Marielle, Albert; his wife’s parents, Adrien and Valéda (Dupuis) Gaudet; her siblings, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Yvette (Pierre Albert) Gaudet, Maurice (Cécile) Gaudet, Laurence (Joe) Branger, Gilberte (Robert) Normand, Madeleine (George) Gareau, Carmen (Laurent) Boucher, Emilienne (Stanley) Kamieniecki, Rita Prince; a son-in-law, Ben Boutin; and a great-grandchild, Mikaël Caciula.
