It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Ryan Donald Gervais, at the young age of 45, on July 24, 2026.

Born on December 16, 1980, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Ryan lived a life defined by service, kindness, and dedication to others. Ryan graduated high school in 1999 from Carlton Comprehensive High School in Prince Albert. After high school be attended Lethbridge College for the Criminal Justice program. Upon graduating from the Criminal Justice program, Ryan began a career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, proudly serving as an RCMP officer for 12 years. He later transitioned to Transport Canada; this career change gave Ryan the opportunity to move back to Saskatchewan from Calgary to be closer to family. At Transport Canada, he continued to build on his professional knowledge and skills through numerous certifications and specialized training. Among his accomplishments, he earned a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of New Brunswick, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence.

Ryan leaves behind his parents Gib and Dianne (nee Soron) Gervais; sister Lindsay (Travis Degenhardt); Melissa (Brett Dueck); nieces and nephews: Hayden, Sutton, Beau, and expected niece/nephew. As well as many aunties, uncles and cousins. Ryan was predeceased by his grandparents Louis and Louise Gervaisand and Steve and Eleanor Soron; his uncles David Soron and Leonard Gervais; his cousin Dean Gervais; and nephew Emmett Degenhardt.
Ryan found joy in the simple things in life. He loved spending time on the golf course, fishing, travelling, and watching sports, especially golf, hockey and football. He looked forward to family gatherings and celebrations and cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family and friends. His greatest happiness came from the people he loved.

Ryan cared deeply for everyone in his life. He will be remembered for his selfless and caring nature, his unwavering reliability, and his willingness to go out of his way to help anyone in need. He was the rock of his family, someone others could always depend on for thoughtful advice, encouragement, and support. With his happy-go-lucky personality and genuine kindness, he never had a mean word to say about anyone.

Ryan was not only a son, brother, an uncle, nephew and brother-in-law, but also everyone’s best friend. He had the remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and effortlessly made friends wherever he went. His warmth, sense of humour, and sincere interest in others left a lasting impression. He built lifelong friendships and valued those relationships deeply, remaining a loyal and dependable friend throughout his life. He touched the lives of many people and always made you feel welcomed and loved.

Committed to helping others in every way he could, Ryan was also a dedicated blood donor, giving blood one to three times each year in the hope of making a difference in the lives of others.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 31st, 2026, in Cherished Memories Funeral Home, 591 Centennial Drive North, Martensville, SK.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice, or by considering becoming a blood donor in his honour.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Ryan, we’re going to miss hearing your voice, your cheesy jokes, and your contagious smile.
