HANSEN, RUTH   1922 – 2018

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Ruth Margaret Hansen announce her passing on Sunday, July 15, 2018 in Whispering Pine Place Nursing Home in Canwood at the age of 96 years.

Ruth Hansen was born in Ordale, SK on April 13, 1922 to Minnie (Marie) and Norman Fraser.  She met the love of her life Alvin Hansen in Hawkeye and she was married November 28, 1942.  From this union she had 9 children, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild and one more on the way.  She was married for 56 years until Alvin’s passing in 1999.  Ruth enjoyed gardening, working on the farm, berry picking, canning and spending time with her family.  She lived a long and fulfilling life.  She was a kind spirited woman, and was always willing to help anyone who needed an extra hand.  She also enjoyed reading the bible and passing on the bibles teachings to her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

The Viewing was held on Thursday, July 19th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Beau “Lac” Funeral Home in Shellbrook. The Funeral Service took place on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Mont Nebo Hall at 1:00 pm and Mr. Bryce Smith officiated the service. Memorial donations in memory of Ruth may be directed to the Canadian Diabetic Association or Whispering Pine Place Recreation Department Canwood.
