Ross Jardine passed away peacefully in the early morning of Thursday, June 7, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. Ross was born in St. Paul, Alberta and was raised by Tomson and Edna Jardine. He grew up in various cities until he moved to Prince Albert in 1953 where he met his lifelong partner, Dori, and married her on August 12, 1966. Ross started his career with the Prince Albert Fire Department in 1957 and retired as a Captain in 1988. Ross was dedicated to the Prince Albert Fire Department for 30 years, putting out many fires including the historical Burns Meat Company fire. Together, Ross and Dori researched and wrote a historical book about the P.A. Fire Department in 1981. Ross enjoyed traveling around North America attending Airstream Rallies, had a love of antiques and always tried to find a good deal at the auction. Ross was predeceased by his father, Tomson and his mother, Edna. He leaves to be mourned by his loving wife Dori (Eldred); son Glen (Lisa); grandchildren Rachel and Alden; and numerous cousins. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with celebrant Val Bodnaryk. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Firefighters Burn Unit or the Canadian Cancer Society.
